Villa comes to Goodison Park
By: 21 | December 6th, 2008The Toffees have a great opportunity to climb up the table as Aston Villa arrives at Goodison Park. Everton’s horrible home record of only one victory is seven matches is troubling to say the least and to make the jump to the top six they will need to build upon last weeks victory over Tottenham. David Moyes will need to be creative with the lineup as Everton is dealing with a rash of injuries at striker that Louis Saha, James Vaughan and Yakubu out and leavies only Victor Anichebe at striker.
David Moyes said before the match:
“We can’t afford for people to be injured and even if they are injured they might have to play – that’s what happens sometimes and that is the situation we are in.
“There’s a lot of weight on all the players because we need them all to step up to the mark and it is all hands to the pump.
“We might have centre halves who play centre forward for the time being or until January or we might need midfield players to play centre forward because when you run out of them everyone has to step up and put their work in.”
Martin O’Neill will have Curtis Davies and Steve Sidwell back, waiting on a late decision on Ashley Young but will definitely miss John Carew.
For those watching the match, drop by and say nice things about our Toffees.
