the return of feisty Standard Liège
By: 21 | October 1st, 2008The Toffees travel to Belgium to face Standard Liège in the second leg of their UEFA Cup series. After falling to a 2-2 draw at home David Moyes has an extremely difficult test ahead as they must level or better the aggregate and also find a way to break-through for two “away” goals.
However the last week hasn’t been too kinds to the lads in blue as they lost 1-0 in the Carling Cup to Blackburn and fell horribly easy to Liverpool 2-0 in the Derby. On the other side of the pitch, Standard Liège is playing virtuso Football in the Jupiler League and their manager László Bölöni, will have them prepared to pounce on opportunities as Everton is forced to play forward.
Everton will be without Marouane Fellani for the match as he is cup tied from his appearance with Standard Liège in UEFA Cup qualifying. The feisty Beligians are reporting no injuries, raring to go and will have strong crowd support in their favour tomorrow.
