FA Cup battle at Goodison Park

By: 21 | February 14th, 2009

Anxiously waiting for FA Cup battle pitting Everton against Aston Villa at Goodison, David Moyes revealed his thoughts on the match:

“I hope the atmosphere can be recreated.

“The three games against Liverpool saw good atmospheres at Anfield and at Goodison.

“The last Aston Villa game was exciting so the supporters will be coming to it hoping for more of the same. So hopefully we will generate a good atmosphere.

“We have not had many good cup runs and I want to have a run in the cup.

“It will be very difficult to win the Premier League for the Everton supporters so the cups become a realistic opportunity for us.

“It would be nice if we could have a run and give them something to shout about.”

Once again the manager will need to deal with a number of absences. Steven Pienaar and Marouane Fellaini are both out with injuries while new man Jô is cup-tied. There has been talk of Louis Saha being available and as well as the availability of Tim Cahill who was on international duty this week with Australia.

With it a fifth round match both clubs are within striking distance of Wembley and you can expect an all out battle.
