Everton v Man City match preview
By: 21 | December 12th, 2008As Everton makes the short drive over to Eastlands to face Man City tomorrow, David Moyes will need to be up to his tactical best given the club is burdened with heavy injuries. The Toffees will need to be play with the physical grit of sandpaper against Mark Hughes side which have shown an inability to respond to physical play. With Everton’s club-house filled with injury problems this might be the perfect situation in-fact, if there is anything positive to see of injuries, as they will need to play with a ruthless, swarming approach.
Injuries look to be the story line of this match as City are likely without starlet Robinho, Gelson Fernandes, Javier Garrido as well as English international Micah Richards and young gun Daniel Sturridge. For the Toffees, of the recent short-term injuries Louis Saha’s hamstring is still not ready and he will need to sit out. Victor Anichebe’s will go through a pre-match fitness test and if unavailable, Everton will need to make significant adjustments as they will be without a single striker. David Moyes will be additionally waiting for additional last minute decisions on Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert. While this isn’t a perfect situation 19 year-old striker Lukas Jutkiewicz who has been on-loan to Plymouth Argyle is in the squad list. While still early in his career the Polish U21 is teeming with talent and someone to watch.
I’ll be online tomorrow while watching the match – please feel free and drop comments on why you support our Toffees.
