Blackburn over Everton 1-0 in Carling Cup

By: 21 | September 24th, 2008

Blackburn defeated Everton 1-0 in a open (and surprisingly exciting) Carling Cup match.

Old nemesis, now for Blackburn, Robbie Fowler set-up the lone goal by Martin Olsson ten minutes into the match (and no, his old goal celebration celebration hasn’t been forgotten). While there were numerous opportunities to draw the match even, the Toffees couldn’t manage to get one past Paul Robinson. David Moyes used the match wisely resting Tim Cahill, Mikel Arteta, Yakubu and Leighton Baines for most or all of the match and gave an important start to uber-promising Jack Rodwell who looked very solid.

So, whats on the horizon…why of-course, Liverpool’s second favourite team visits Goodison Park on Saturday.
