aiming for victory

By: 21 | January 24th, 2009

Prior to the Toffees visit of Anfield in the FA Cup, David Moyes stated his goal of hoisting the hardware at Wembley:

“I would like to win the Cup. But there is a big obstacle in front of us and we need to overcome it before we can talk about winning the Cup.

“You go about the job and you try and win the game. The Cup is something we would like to do well in and we are going to go there and see if we can make it happen.”

Record making goal-scorer Timmy Cahill added his sentiments on EvertonTV:

“It doesn’t matter what Liverpool do. Our biggest problem will be if we let them play and worry too much about them. It doesn’t matter what they change – we’ll always keep the same team and play the best we can.

“We try to work on a lot of aspects of our game and then see how we can hinder them and get as much out of it as we can.

“At the moment I feel it’s all about this game. Just win this game. If you beat a team like Liverpool in a cup competition like this though, then really, hypothetically speaking, you should go on to win it. But it doesn’t work like that.”

There are absolutely no changes to Everton’s lineup from last Monday so tactically this will be a great match-up between both managers.

Stop by during this great derby and tell me great things about our Toffees.

Dirk Kuyt definitely missed a golden chance.

I can’t tell you (well actually I can) how pleased I am to see Dan Gosling and Jack Rodwell in the match.

Looks like we’re heading back to Goodison.

you don’t think he’s worried now of “payback” from Gerrard now?

jajaja – so any chance the Reds will pick up Joey Barton so those two can just hang out together?
