A new owner
By: 21 | October 14th, 2008With Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright noting that he is willing to sell the club and (supposed) fan groups yearning for better funded ownership group, the investment bank Seymour Pierce has been retained to help find a new owner.
Per the BBC, Keith Harris, chairman of investment banker noted he his confident of finding a purchaser and commented:
“Bill (Kenwright) is passionately clear it is is going to be someone who really does care for Everton in the future.”
I acknowledge that some groups want a “high-flying” club with endless amounts of money to spend but I appreciate local ownership and in particular the regional players who come through the Everton academy system. It is one of the great reasons why I support the club through its ups and downs and the entire notion of a possible foreign ownership nauseates me.
